Cabinet Charger

Industrial-Grade DC Fast Charging, Built for Multi-Vehicle Fleet Operations

Flexible DC Fast Charging for Fleet Depots

Camber’s cabinet charger line — built on the Power Electronics NBi 180 and NBi 360 platforms — delivers scalable DC fast charging for fleet depots where multiple vehicles need to charge simultaneously from a single, space-efficient power unit.

The NBi 180 and NBi 360 are engineered specifically for fleet environments: tight parking layouts, round-the-clock charging cycles, and the need to service vehicles across a range of battery sizes and state-of-charge profiles. With power outputs from 60kW to 360kW and multi-dispenser support, Camber’s cabinet chargers give fleet operators the flexibility to design a depot layout that works for their specific vehicles and shift patterns.

Remote Dispensers — Design Your Depot Around Your Vehicles, Not Your Chargers

One of the most significant operational advantages of Camber’s cabinet charger system is the ability to locate dispensers up to 500 feet away from the charging cabinet. This is a fundamental benefit for large depot footprints: the power cabinet can be installed at the optimal electrical service point while dispensers are positioned exactly where vehicles park, minimizing cable lengths, trip hazards, and parking aisle interference. Fleet operators frequently cite depot layout flexibility as the deciding factor when choosing between a cabinet-style system and an all-in-one standalone unit.

Smart Power Balance — Charge Multiple Vehicles at Different Rates

The NBi 180 and NBi 360 both include Smart Power Balance — intelligent dynamic power distribution that automatically adjusts output to each connected vehicle based on its current demand. When one vehicle reaches a high state of charge and begins tapering, the system redirects that freed capacity to vehicles still actively charging. This maximizes the efficiency of every kilowatt of installed capacity and can reduce peak demand charges on your utility bill.

Charge Up to 4 Vehicles from One Cabinet

The NBi 180 supports up to 3 vehicles simultaneously and up to 4 vehicles in sequential charging mode. The NBi 360 extends this with higher power density — compatible with both standard dispensers and pantograph systems — making it suitable for mixed fleets where some vehicles use plug-in CCS1 connections and others use automated pantograph charging.

Modular, Field-Serviceable Design

Power modules are built around the Field Replaceable Unit (FRU) concept: failed modules can be swapped in the field by a technician without specialized tooling, minimizing downtime and reducing the cost of service calls. Remote monitoring, intelligent diagnostics, and Camber Core charge management software provide real-time visibility into system health, enabling proactive maintenance before a module failure affects fleet readiness.

Who Uses the Camber Cabinet Charger?

Cabinet chargers are the right solution for:

Mid-size fleets of 5–30 electric vehicles needing reliable overnight or opportunity charging

Delivery and logistics depots where parking bays are spread across a large lot

Transit transfer stations serving smaller electric bus fleets

Utility and public works departments with mixed light- and medium-duty electric fleets

Universities and government campuses operating shared EV fleet pools

Frequently Asked Questions

The NBi 180 delivers up to 180kW and supports up to 3 simultaneous vehicles, making it ideal for small to mid-size fleet depots. The NBi 360 doubles the available power density to 360kW with higher-current output, supporting mixed-use depots where some vehicles require more power per session. Both share the same FRU modular architecture and Smart Power Balance functionality.

Yes. Both the NBi 180 and NBi 360 are compatible with Schunk pantograph dispensers, enabling automated hands-free connection for transit buses and other vehicles equipped with pantograph receivers. This makes the cabinet charger an excellent choice for smaller bus fleets that need automation without the infrastructure investment of a full station system.

OCPP (Open Charge Point Protocol) is an open communication standard that allows Camber’s charging hardware to integrate with any OCPP-compliant charge management software — including Camber Core, our own fleet charge management platform. This means you’re never locked into a proprietary ecosystem, and you retain the ability to switch management software as your operation evolves.
