The NB Station can support up to 24 vehicles charging simultaneously and up to 48 vehicles in sequential charging mode, making it the right choice for large overnight depot operations or high-throughput shift-change charging at transit facilities.

Smart Power Balance — Charge Every Vehicle at the Right Rate

Not every vehicle in your fleet has the same battery size or the same state of charge when it returns to the depot. Camber’s station charger uses Smart Power Balance to intelligently distribute available power across all connected vehicles in real time. The result: faster overall fleet readiness, no wasted capacity, and a smaller grid infrastructure requirement than a fixed-output system of comparable size. 

Modular and Scalable — Grow Without Starting Over 

The NB Station is designed for fleet operators who are electrifying in phases. The system can be initially configured at lower power levels and upgraded on-site up to 1440kW simply by adding power modules. Power modules follow the Field Replaceable Unit (FRU) concept, which means they can be swapped in the field by a technician without advanced equipment, keeping downtime minimal and service costs low.

The Camber Station Charger is compatible with all Power Electronics NB dispensers: Slim, Cooled, Depot, and Schunk Pantograph automated charging systems. Pantograph support is critical for transit bus operators that require hands-free, automated connection. Both bus-up (roof-mounted) and inverted (top-down) pantograph configurations are supported. 

Reduced Footprint, Lower Installation Cost

An optional medium voltage transformer can be integrated directly into the charging system, eliminating the need for a separate external service transformer on site. This reduces both the physical footprint of your charging infrastructure and the civil/electrical work required at installation.

Frequently Asked Questions

The NB Station system requires a three-phase high-voltage service. The optional integrated medium voltage transformer reduces external transformer requirements and can significantly simplify site preparation. Camber’s installation engineering team will conduct a site assessment and coordinate with your utility to determine the exact service requirements for your depot.

Yes. The NB Station uses industry-standard CCS1 connectors that are compatible with commercial electric vehicles of all classes — from passenger vehicles and cargo vans to Class 6 trucks and 40-foot transit buses. The pantograph dispenser option adds automated connection capability for buses specifically.

Installation timelines vary by site complexity, but Camber’s project teams typically complete station charger installations in 8–16 weeks from contract execution, including site assessment, utility coordination, civil/electrical work, and commissioning.
